Not sure if it will be a theater near you or not, but here is the latest on films I've been in over the past year. I expect all of them to be hitting the festivals this year and next year. Go see them when they do, ok?

1. Codependent Lesbian Space Alien Seeks Same, directed by Madeleine Olnek. I did this one back in January. I play an alien news anchor. I haven't heard if it will be out in time for this year's festivals, but I'll let you know.

2. Asylum, directed by Ben Samuels. I just got done filming this movie. I was lucky enough to see some of the footage, and lemme tell ya, it is phenomenal. I expect big things for this horror film next year.

3. Night of 1000 Rom Coms, directed by Ed Bonfanti. I shot this last year. I play a creepy roommate. I suppose I do creepy well. It's a short film, but I also haven't heard when this one will be screened.

That's that. Let me know if you know more about these films...and I'll let you know when I know when to go to the shows.

I filmed a scene for Madeleine Olnek's new film "Codependent Lesbian Space Alien Seeks Same" this weekend. The script is hilarious and the make-up and costumes are spot on. All I'm going to say is that I play a news anchor...on the planet Zots.

Playing an alien was high on my list of dream parts. That takes care of mentally challenged and zombie. I still need to be a killer/villain, a person at an insane asylum (even though they aren't called this anymore), and some sort of hero/superhero type. Oooh, I also want to be a cartoon of some kind.

So much to do.

I'm starting 2010 right. I'll be playing an alien in a film! A couple scenes and a couple days on set. Possibly the film will be using a little Clay Drinko OG music too.
More specifics later.
Just know the script is hilarious and the production team is amazing.

I finally saw it. It's cute. Very funny.

I am assistant directing Ntozake Shange's "For colored girls who have considered suicide...when the rainbow is enuf" in April at Tufts. Auditions will be January 22nd and 23rd. I need everyone to become a fan of the facebook page for the show. We need lots of people interested in all aspects of production. It's a very important story and message.

The second week of December I'll be in a dance piece.

I'll let you know (it's gonna be an NYC thing).

As we approach the close of 2009, I have to think about my 2009 goal. Sadly it was to play a killer/villain in a film. Let's see...

I played a nerdy guy in a commercial.

I played a menacing chorus boy in a dance piece. (closer...I guess)

I will soon play an ex-boyfriend who gets in a gay gunfight in a dance piece. (hmmmm...not quite)

A short film I did was released. In this one, I play a business man in a suit. (nope, not even close! Though these days people don't look too fondly on those "business men")

I think that's it. No killer. No villain. Maybe next year. Though I'm thinking my 2010 dream is to be a wacky supporting role in a one hour tv comedy. I'm feeling wacky and silly again. We shall see.

I did a commercial for Comcast Sportsnet New England. So any of you Boston people be on the look out for it. I play a really nerdy, weird guy (shocked?). I haven't seen it yet, so let me know how it is.

This summer I filmed two short films. So that makes three short films in my recent history that are floating around in various stages of public readiness. I'll keep you posted.

There's one more project that I really have my eye on though.

Things that are coming up:

a short film I did last year should be done soon.

a short film I'm currently in will be done filming soon, then it will go into post-production.

I'm auditioning more and more lately, but nothing huge to report yet. A couple exciting misses, but misses don't pay my bills.

I'm trying to read as many plays as I can this summer. It's really helping me to better understand the kind of roles I want to go for. My character type has a rich history that starts far before the crazy guy next door.

I have been obsessively reading classical plays throughout history and I do believe it has influenced my gravitation towards wanting to act in these same plays. Of course.

I'm not saying when, but just know that classical theatre is in the future for Clay Drinko.

I'm still filming a comedy short right now, and a different short film I was in last year should be hitting festivals soon.

And other irons are in other fires.

Two short films this Spring then I'll be dancing in a modern dance concert.
